⚠️ Time-sensitive. The fall-sale price and conditions captured here expired 23 September 2026. Treat the $303 price as a point-in-time snapshot, not a current offer. Captured 2026-09-21.
The short version
All figures below were captured from vocci.ai on 2026-09-21 in a proxied Chromium session — product page plus the membership table in both billing states, quoted from the page’s own text layer. This is a terms check: we did not buy a ring, pair one, or record anything. The spec sheet is quoted, not verified.
Vocci sells an AI “context ring” — a wearable microphone that records conversations for transcription and AI summaries — and it splits its pricing the way hardware companies should: the app and the basics are free; the ring is a one-time purchase; the membership is optional.
| What you pay for | Price | Printed conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Vocci Ring (titanium, 4 colors) | $303.00 sale, |
“Fall Sale: Save $70+… Ends Sep 23” — captured 2 days before expiry |
| 2+ rings | “$25 off each” | “Save $50+ on 2+ rings” printed under the buy button |
| Vocci app (iOS/Android) | $0 | “Recording, transcription, AI connection. Free on iOS and Android.” |
| Starter membership | $0/mo | 300 transcription minutes, 30 AI Agent uses/mo, 2 GB cloud |
| Plus membership | $15.99/mo monthly · $9.99/mo annual ($119.99/yr) | 1,200 minutes, 150 Agent uses, 10 GB |
| Pro membership | $29.99/mo monthly · $19.99/mo annual ($239.99/yr) | Unlimited minutes, 300 Agent uses, 20 GB |
Two things in that table are the reason this article exists: the monthly/annual ladder most summaries print is the wrong side of the toggle, and the sale price is about to expire.
Three price generations on one product page
Vocci’s pricing has moved twice since launch, and the page still shows the fingerprints of all three stages:
- Preorder era. TechRadar’s hands-on (June 2026) recalls a $199 preorder price and ships “around $299/£299” — third-party recollection, quoted as such.
- Launch public pricing. Vocci’s own launch post (vocci.ai blog, Aug 3 2026, syndicated to Yahoo Finance): Standard finishes $249, Signature “Lux” $299, an automatic $20 launch discount, and “a three-month Vocci AI Pro membership bundle” on all orders.
- The fall-sale state we captured on 2026-09-21. The US-geographed storefront (region
selector “United States”, screenshot
voc-01-01-product.png) prints $303.00 sale / $388.00 regular under a banner reading “Fall Sale: Save $70+, Plus 1-Month AI Pro & Shipping Protection. Ends Sep 23.”
Two things fall out of comparing them. First, the “sale” price is $54 above the launch list price the company itself published six weeks earlier — $303 “from $388” is arithmetic against an inflated anchor, not a return to anything a launch buyer saw. ($388 − $303 = $85, which does satisfy “Save $70+”; the $299−$249 = $50 spread on the launch ladder would not, so the banner is keyed to the $388 anchor.) Second, the free-Pro bundle shrank from three months to one between the official launch post and the live banner — both are Vocci’s own statements, 49 days apart. If a review copies the press-release figure, it is quoting an offer the store no longer prints.
The $10/$20 problem: the membership table depends on which side of the toggle you read
The membership table has a MONTHLY / ANNUAL toggle, and the headline number changes with it:
- Annual view (default on our capture): Plus $9.99/mo, Pro $19.99/mo — billed as $119.99 and $239.99 per year respectively.
- Monthly view: Plus $15.99/mo, Pro $29.99/mo.
Round-number summaries that quote “Vocci starts at $10” are quoting the annual per-month rate as if it were the monthly price — what you actually pay if you subscribe month-to-month is $15.99 (Plus) or $29.99 (Pro). Neither is wrong on its own, but they are different contracts: the $119.99 figure is a full year collected up front. Cite the billing state whenever you cite a Vocci membership number; both states of the same table are in the evidence screenshots above.
The free tier is not empty — and the escape hatch is in a footnote
The Starter plan is $0 and still carries 300 transcription minutes/month, 30 Vocci AI Agent uses, 2 GB cloud storage, multi-language support, speaker labels, and auto-transcribe with AI summary, per the same comparison table. That reframes the membership question: it buys volume, not capability.
More unusually, the table itself prints an exit from the subscription economy:
“Note: Users can export raw audio via MCP and use their own local ASR without a paid subscription.”
Combined with the “Vocci MCP Server / APP Integration 1000+” rows present on all three tiers, the architecture is: the ring is not locked to Vocci’s cloud transcription. You can own the audio and run your own pipeline — a hardware product genuinely usable without the subscription, stated by the vendor, not inferred by us. (We did not test the MCP export path; no device, no account.)
What the $303 buys, per the spec sheet (quoted, not tested)
Straight from the product page on 2026-09-21 — titanium inner and outer surfaces, US sizes 6–15, 6.8 mm wide, 3–5 g, IP67. One MEMS microphone, up to 5 m effective recording range, 8 hours continuous recording, ~2 days regular use, 0→80% in 30 minutes (magnetic charging, case gives 3 full charges), BLE 5.4, 100+ languages, offline recording to onboard storage that syncs later.
We cannot corroborate any battery, range, or water-resistance figure — no hands-on was performed. Treat the block above as a transcription of vendor claims.
The purchase conditions are printed next to the price and are part of the deal: 14-day return, 1-year warranty (the FAQ states 2-year warranty for the European Union, 1-year for all other eligible countries), worldwide shipping to US/Canada/UK/EU/Australia/Japan with duties on the recipient, sizing kit offered free before ordering.
What we did not verify
- Nothing about the device: no recording quality, no battery test, no pairing flow, no MCP export.
- Whether the sale state ($303) reverts to $388 after Sep 23 — the page says the fall sale ends that day; we captured it two days early.
- App-store availability details beyond the badges printed on the page.
- Whether the annual-view rates ($9.99/$19.99) were ever offered as standalone monthly prices (we found no archived evidence in this check).
Verdict (terms-level, no score)
No star rating — we never touched the hardware. What the terms support: this is one of the few AI-wearable listings where the free tier does real work (300 min/month), the vendor explicitly documents a no-subscription escape hatch, and both price traps — the billing toggle and the expiring sale against a launch-era anchor — are printed clearly on the page itself. What it cannot answer: whether a $303 ring with an optional $120–240/yr membership is worth it against Oura-style competitors, which needs a device in hand.
