The short version
Both pricing pages were read in USD from a US-locale session on October 6, 2026. No accounts were created and nothing was purchased; this is a terms comparison.
At the entry paid tier the gap is two dollars: ClickUp Unlimited $7 per user/month against monday.com Basic $9 per seat/month, both billed yearly. monday answers with AI credits folded into every paid tier; ClickUp answers by not capping its free plan at two seats.
Pricing side by side

| Enterprise | Custom; 250K automations/mo quoted at “$750 in value” | Custom price, “discounts available” |

| Discount badge | “Save up to 30% with yearly” | “Yearly SAVE 18%” |
| How prices are shown | Both billing states printed inside every card | Per-seat price plus a 10-seat total, billing state switched by a toggle |
At the 10-seat size monday’s own selector defaults to, monday Basic prints a total of $90/month billed annually. Ten ClickUp Unlimited users at the yearly rate come to $70/month. That is our multiplication of two printed prices, not a quote from either page.
The discount badges don’t survive their own arithmetic
Both pages advertise a yearly discount and both print the numbers needed to check it. So we checked.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Actual saving | Badge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ClickUp Unlimited | $10 | $7 | 30.0% | “up to 30%” |
| ClickUp Business | $19 | $12 | 36.8% | “up to 30%” |
| monday Basic | $12 | $9 | 25.0% | “SAVE 18%” |
| monday Standard | $14 | $12 | 14.3% | “SAVE 18%” |
| monday Pro | $24 | $19 | 20.8% | “SAVE 18%” |
ClickUp’s badge is accurate but understated: its Business tier cuts 36.8%, more than the “up to 30%” it promises. monday’s badge misses in both directions — Basic beats it by seven points, Standard falls five points short of it. A badge is not a price, but when the page prints both numbers a few hundred pixels apart, it is worth doing the division before you repeat the claim.
The same monday page carries a second pricing block for monday CRM, labelled “Yearly SAVE 33%”, where Basic prints a struck $18 against $12 — 33.3%, which does match that badge. We did not capture the CRM block’s monthly state, so we report the struck figure as printed.
What monday prints twice, and one number that doesn’t reconcile
On monday’s platform tab, Standard shows “Total of $120 $140 / month, billed annually” with “Special offer: $20 off / month”, and Pro shows “Total of $190 $220” with “$30 off / month”. The struck totals are the monthly-equivalent ones for Standard ($140 = 10 × $14, matching the monthly toggle), but Pro’s struck $220 works out to $22 per seat, which matches neither the $19 offer nor the $24 the monthly toggle charges today. We treat the struck totals as a promotional display rather than a computable baseline, and quote the per-seat prices instead.
Correction note, October 6, 2026: our earlier Notion vs monday.com page lists monday Pro’s monthly price as $22. The monthly toggle on monday’s pricing page printed $24 per seat ($240 for the default 10 seats) when we captured it today, and the $22 figure is otherwise unreachable — it is the struck annual total divided by ten. The figure in this page’s table is what the page printed today.
monday’s footnote is also worth knowing before you budget: “Prices do not include tax. The price is determined by the user’s billing country.”
Verdict
If you are paying per seat and want the lowest entry price, ClickUp Unlimited at $7 wins the pair, and its free plan’s lack of a seat cap is the single most useful difference for a three-person team — monday’s free tier stops at two seats, so a third person forces a purchase. ClickUp’s catch is that AI is an add-on line rather than part of the tier.
If your team wants AI capability included from the first paid seat rather than bolted on, monday Basic’s 1,000 monthly AI credits and 250 automation actions do more work at $9 than ClickUp’s Unlimited does at $7 — and monday’s Standard and Pro tiers scale automations far harder than ClickUp’s ladder does at the same prices.
Two pages worth reading next: ClickUp pricing for the tier ladder including the AI add-on prices, and ClickUp vs Asana if the comparison you actually need is against a third tool.
